Frequently Asked Questions

Porto 6.0 adds templates builder which enables you build header, footer, block, single product, shop, etc as well as page using WPBakery, Elementor and Visual Composer. Porto 5 already had block and product layout builder. We improved their elements and combined them under new templates builder.

If you update Porto from 5.x to 6.x , it converts old blocks and product layouts automatically and moved them under Porto -> Templates Builder. So you don't need to worry about losing them.

WooCommerce uses product_look_table to filter products. You need to regenerate this table after importing products.
Please go to WooCommerce -> Status -> Tools -> Product lookup tables and click "Regenerate" button, after that clear WooCommerce transients & clear Expired transients as well and finally check again your site after removing the browser cache.

If you want to build one page navigation, please read our One Page Setup article. You can also add anchor scroll using Porto Sticky Nav element or Porto Floating Menu element. When you're not using menu items or elements, then you can try adding a custom css class to the anchor tag. Theses classes are "hash-scroll" and "hash-scroll-wrap". You can add hash-scroll to a anchor tag directly and hash-scroll-wrap class to its parent tag. For example,

<div class="hash-scroll-wrap"><a href="#section1">Section 1</a><a href="#section2">Section 2</a></div>
Here "section1" and "section2" are IDs of scrolling elements.

Do I need to buy a new license if I use Porto on a sub domain or sub path?

In a word, it depends on the use case. Envato regular licenses apply to the end product you use them for. End product will be a website with a specific topic. If you use sub domains or sub paths where the topic of the site is not identical or the general design is different, then all of these sub domains or paths will be end products and you need to purchase one license per each sub domain or path. But if the topic and general design of them is identical to the purpose of your main site, you don't need to purchase extra licenses. If you activate Porto in a sub domain or sub path using same license with the main site, it blocks activating theme by default. In this case, please contact us if you think this is a valid case of using same license. After review, we can enable your license for usage of these sub domains or paths.
Please extend max_execution_time to 1000 in php.ini. Please click again "Import" button in Porto > Setup Wizard > Demo Content. You can also import dummy data using the Alternative Method. OR Please once set your server requirements as listed below and try to Import the Demo again: PHP version 7.4. Memory Limit 256M or higher. max_execution_time 600 or 1000 memory_limit 256M max_input_vars 2000 post_max_size 64M upload_max_filesize 64M OR If you will be contacted with this error: Failed importing! Please check the "System Status" tab to ensure your server meets all requirements for a successful import.Settings that need attention will be listed in red. If your server provider does not allow to update settings, please try using alternative import mode. Then please contact your hosting provider and ask to set the below-listed values to your site from your server and then try to import the Demo content again.
  • First PHP pmrequest field need to be changed bigger
  • Second php not support zlib , need to install zlib and change php-fpm file ,add field key-value extension=zlib.so

    • If you failed again, please contact us in Porto support page.

    Firstly, this Modal Pop-Up is coming from Modal Box which is present on the Homepage. So, you need to first edit your Home page. Here’s how to do it:

    Then you’ll find the editor window in-front of you. Click on Backend Editor, like shown in this image:

    On the editor window, after scrolling down a bit, you’ll find Porto Modal Box. Please click on the Pencil icon, then, you’ll find the Widget Setting window. There you’ll find the Block Name named as Newsletter Popup. Like this:

    Now, to change the Block Settings, you need to go to the Dashboard >> Porto >> Template Builder >> Newsletter Popup >> Edit like the below image:

    After click on “Edit” a new page will be open like below image:

    In order to change the background image, simply click on the “edit row” icon and go to “Design tab” and then scroll down the image section, choose the image, save settings like the below:

    For changing the text simply click on the “edit” icon, click on “General” , and enter the text in the “text box” like the below image:

    For removing the popup/modal simply go to the Dashboard >> Pages >> All Pages >> Home Page >> Edit like in the below image:

    After click on “edit” a new page will be opened. Please scroll down the page at the “Porto Modal Box” section, then the section looks like the below image:

    Simply click on the “edit row” icon, choose “General” , scroll down in the box at the “Disable row” and simply “Disable it” , save settings. See below image:

    After the edit page and turn ON the navigator, now find the Modal Dialog Box and edit it, you will find the Shortcode of the Block set under it:

    If you want to change the content then you have to go to Porto >> Template Builder >> ALL or Blocks and find and edit the particular block and change anything as you like:

    And if you simply want to delete this, you have to delete the Modal Dialog Box element:

    Change Product Image Size:

    To change image size: To change this setting now on the front end you have to go to Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images and you can customize the store display from there. Please read these documents: https://woocommerce.com/2018/01/whats-new-woocommerce-3-3/ https://woocommerce.wordpress.com/2017/12/11/wc-3-3-image-size-improvements/ WooCommerce provides two image sizes: Main image width and Thumbnail width. Main image width is used on single product pages and thumbnail width is used in the Archive(Shop/Category) pages. Thumbnail is not the width of thumbnail images on thumbnail carousel in single product pages. Otherwise, if you want any extra functionality you have to contact WooCommerce Support or you have to do it by yourself using Customization.

    1. Using Speed Optimize Wizard

    • Please go to Porto > Speed Optimize wizard > JS Composer & Shortcodes.
    • Please select unused shortcodes and click "Compile & Continue" button.

    2. Using Admin Tools

    • Please go to Porto > Tools.
    • Please click "COMPILE CSS" button.
